This young man, Samuel Majekodumi, walked into our office this afternoon seeking for help. According to him, he was released from Kirikiri prisons on allegation of theft in a place where he worked as a security personel. After six months behind bars in Kirikiri prisons he was released this morning when he was found to be innocent of the charges against him.
He said he managed to find his way to Ikeja to visit his former place of work to see if they could support him with a transport fare to enable him travel back to Abeokuta to join his family.
Unfortunately, he did not see his former boss. But on his way back he saw the THE CHARITY CITY PROJECT BANNER and decided to walk into our office to seek for assistance.
“Sir help me, I was released from prisons this morning, I need some money to tansport back to Abeokuta where my father lives” He made a passionate plea as he approached me within the premises of our office. He continued ” I saw your banner outside and something within me said I should enter and ask for help that you people would assist me” As I looked at him, he was tattered, hungry and feebled. while speaking he was constantly scratching his body that was visibly ‘invaded’ with black rashes. His pathetic appearance melted my heart with compassion.
I immediately called on some of the Project Team members who were around to see what we could do to help him. First, we bought him some food to eat which he devoured hungrily. After that, we arranged for him to take his bath and change from the dirty clothes he wore to the office. We also gave him a new set of clothes and a pair of shoes to match
When he emerged from the bathroom wearing his new clothes, I could barely recognize him. oh my God! He was totally transformed. He exclaimed ” Thank you sir, you and your group have really given me hope today, I was hopelessly stranded before I came here, I tried to talk to some people on my way to this place, but nobody gave me any attention. You guys are different. sir, please let me also make a final appeal; your group need to urgently visit the prisons, alot of innocent people are dying there…………..”
He went on and on, profusely expressing his joy for the new transformation he just had.
The team has also promised to rehabilitate and empower him to start a new life once he he has re- united with his family.
To God be the glory, it was indeed a rare opportunity for us today to minister the love of God to a man who was seeming hopeless.
Beloved, we are sharing this testimony and showing you this, not to impress you about what we can do as a team. we want you to me inspired to do likewise or support us to do more.
This is our PRACTICAL WAY of preaching the gospel of LOVE to humanity
This work is for YOU AND I.
Samuel said that many other innocent people are wasting away in prisons
